February 6, 2007
THANKS, OFFICIALLY from President Deane Spradley
I want to thank each and every one of you for making the first meeting of 2007 a success. I am looking forward to a productive year, and the attitudes I saw Saturday, February 3rd, are exactly what we need to strengthen us for upcoming tasks.
Sometimes we get so bogged down in the drudgery of a thing, we forget the joy that first attracted us, but I do believe that Saturday the joy was resurrected, thanks to all of you. You are indeed a wonderful group that pulls together as a family; you showed that by helping out those in need. The gift can truly be in the giving.
Thank you for the words of support and encouragement I received after the meeting and into the days following. I want you to know that none of this would be possible without each of you, those that have offered their time and numerous phone conversations helping to answer my seemingly endless questions, the hours of work done on the web site, the eagerness to volunteer for programs, the offers to help in any way needed, and of course your attending the meeting with exuberance and a willingness to participate in a positive manner. There are not enough thanks I could offer to my Officers and Chairmen. They have gone above and beyond what is required of them. This is a team effort and what a team to be on.
Our year is just beginning; we still need volunteers to round out programs. Each of you has something to offer, if you’re not sure what it is, we can figure it out together. We can’t forget our most important event; the May flower show. I’m sure Margie Dumesnil and Dr. Orgeron would appreciate help from any of our members. This event really represents our club to the public and helps draw public interest to the daylily. Together we can do a spectacular job. Please contact them and let them know you are there to help, just as I did.
Finally, thank you for the opportunity to be a part of such a spectacular group; I only hope I can do you justice.
